Two separate training tracks are available for use of the HCQI system:

1. Managers/Quality Assurance staff who would be providing HCQI coding only

- No prerequisites
- No demonstrated expertise in motivational interviewing or health coaching
- Must complete HCQI training which consists of two 2-hour webinars and practice assignments
- Proficiency test administered at end of training with re-takes available

2. Mentors/Team Leads who would be providing HCQI coding and conducting skill-building and feedback sessions with staff based on the data

- Must have achieved Registered Health Coach Level II status (see http://healthsciences.org/registered-health-coach) or be a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) see (http://motivationalinterviewing.org)
- Must complete HCQI training which consists of two 2-hour webinars and practice assignments
- Proficiency test administered at end of training with re-takes available
- Must complete the equivalent of four hours of mentor training from a health coach expert who has achieved RHC-III status or who is member of MINT
